Poppy seeds
Can I eat the seeds from poppies growing in my garden or is it only special poppies that are used for eating? If it is possible, does anything have to be done to prepare them? I'm guessing that they would have to be dried but would that be done with the seed pod left on the plant or off? Thanks for any advice.

I would stick to store bought ones. I'm not sure I'd trust poppies from the garden

Which type of poppy are we talking about here? They might be different

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm not sure of the type of poppy but they are the tallish ones with a pale lilac coloured flower with a darker centre.0

Sound like opium poppies, do they have fleshy pale grey green leaves?
If it is, then fine for culinary use
