Woolworths do some fab piggy banks with names on, they are really bright & fun, not the cheapest at £4.99 though but kids love putting money in them;)

Make one from papier mache- inflate a balloon then put torn up strips of pasty newspaper over it, adding flatter bits for legs etc.

Leave to dry, then paint and cut a slot in the top- the beauty of it is there's no hole in the bottom to take the money out:D

Nice quality time spent with kid too who can help with the project (unless of course it's for a baby, where the parents will love something that time was spent making)

I was talking to a customer yesterday, as her 7 year old had saved up for his own Wii, and got a extra controller and game as well, and she was telling me she started him learning at 4, at 5 he bought his own playstation 2, was impressed to say the least! I was taught about the value of money at about 8/9ish, wish i'd had it drummed into me sooner, and gotton better at it! This webpage has helped me a lot better, but wish I was better at it sooner!
