Advise Needed on Natwest Account

I need some advise please, I have been banking with natwest for over 3 years now. I stopped using my current account for over 6 months had it at a Zero balance, then low and behold I received a letter telling me that I have an authorized overdraft transaction and I will be charged unauthorized overdraft fees plus interest daily on the outstanding balance until I make payment.
I checked the account transactions and I saw that it was a debit card transaction, which I did not make. Normally when there is no money in the account you cannot make any debit card transaction. I wrote them a letter disputing this, they replied saying that they are investigating the matter.
I continued to use my other accounts that I have with them namely my first reserve savings account. I deposited money into my savings account, I went to make a withdrawal from my savings account and I was told that I could not withdraw from my savings account and my savings account were now controlled by their collection team until I settled the outstanding on the Current Account.
Any advise?

I think you will probably find you are wrong if it is a normal current account so you could well have made a purchase well before you closed it, any retailer can take a payment up to six years from the transaction, so it is possible for you to have made the purchase andthey have taken the payment well after you closed the account and you have not realised.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
