My 9 year old Fiat Stilo Multiwagon has had a few expensive repairs lately, including broken springs, but it is stiil a good car and I could not buy the equivalent specification for less than several thousand pounds. So I shall be keeping it indefinitely.I can afford anything that I want.

OP, you have been given some great advice here. Keep the car, you know it makes sense. Only when you start having serious issues with the oily bits or rust is really time to get rid.

That's exactly what I've decided to do, be a fool to ignore you guys!
