Hi,
What are the costs of buying a house in Scotland for 125k and under so stamp duty exempt.
ie. Solicitor fees, survey etc.
Just looking to see how much I need on top of the deposit
thanks

i paid £99 to the mortgage co for a reservation fee - -luckily the lender (nationwide) took the valuation from the home report so didnt need to pay any extra for that
solicitors fees came to about £6000 -
Solicitor fees for me was 1K just to buy a flat(no selling), robbing barstewards!0

Typical high-street solicitor should charge you around £900 or so for a purchase transaction.
You shouldn't need a survey if you, your solicitor and your lender accept the Home Report which is provided by the seller.
There may be setup/admin fees from your lender
Removals / man with a van etc to get your stuff in
That's about it0 -
Thanks everyone, I was thinking in the region of 2k which seems to be probably enough. I have been given one solicitor that will charge £700 which seems fair.0
