Removal of Car from private car park

I need a quick advice on how to get my car back without paying the amount (£505) request by Car Park Solutions,on the 17th July 2012, my car was removed at what seem to be a private car park (Athol Square, Poplar, London E14). It had this notice fixed about two weeks ago according to the operator. Pls I need advise on how to get my car back from their car pound and at no cost.

    We need more facts first.
    Was it clamped ?
Did you not pay the claming fee ? etc ?

There would be two ways of going about this, the easiest if a clamping matter would be to pay up and then sue the landowner / co that contracted the clampers - and the clampers.
The other would be to get a court injunction to get your car back which could well turn out to be more costly than paying for it.

More in depth clamping advice can be got over on pepipoo, there are lots of clamping cases on there. http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=60

  • Thank you for the quick reply mickybutt. I did asked the operator for specifics he reply was that the car was 1st seen at 1100hrs then ticket issued at 1130 and then clamped at 1215 then removed at 1330.

I believe there is a way round releasing my car legally but I have no cue yet.

Pay it and sue is the easiest way. Looking on googlemaps there only seems to be one sign saying private car park and one clamping sign as you drive in.
  • Thanks for the reply esmerobbo for the reply. The problem is that they are asking for £505 to release the car. Which I cant afford. Are there any other ways please

The problem is the fee will go up each day by around £40 and after so long they will apply to the DVLA for the V5c for your car!
They will be out of business in 3/4 months so they will be in a feeding frenzy at the moment!

Not much help, but this amounts to racketeering.
