Credit Cards that allow Balance Transfers with Debit Cards?

Just wondered if anyone knows what Credit Cards allow balance transfers with Debit Cards?

If you have a credit card and debit card through the same bank can this be done no matter what, or is it not allowed/practiced?

I seem to recall a small number of companies that do allow it but not sure which?

I was wanting to pay off a bank overdraft and put it onto a zero rate card if possible. It will at least prevent them harassing me all of a sudden with demands that I pay off the full amount after recently cancelling the overdraft out of the blue.

For several years I have only made small regular repayments back to it, but recently they demanded a lot higher than I earn in a month which there is just no way I'd be able to do. Now they have never said anything for the last 7 or 8 odd years about there being a minimum amount that I must pay in each month as I had only ever paid up to £50 into the account every four weeks which to me implies that there never was such an agreement as this was a student account from when I was at University quite a long while back.

I did ask them for a copy of the consumer credit agreement signed by me stating that there was some sort of minimum amount I had to pay in but they have ignored that part of the complaint I made to them in a couple of letters I have sent as well as one online complaint through their system.

I am hoping to now just get shut of them and transfer it to a credit card instead where the minimum payment would probably actually be less than what I have been paying every four weeks for the outstanding balance.

Thanks for any info on this and cards that offer that facility.

John

Virgin cards and others backed by MBNA.
    Post office cards

These are the only 2 that I am aware of that allow money transfers to your current account to new customers (barclays sometimes offer them to existing customers).
The fee is sometimes higher for money transfers than normal balance transfers.

There is also another work around option with M&S whereby with a new M&S credit card you buy sterling travellers cheques from M&S and then pay them into your bank account.

Your overdraft does not have a consumer credit agreement as it is not regulated by the consumer credit act.

There usually isn't a minimum repayment per month to your overdraft - but they are repayable on demand and if they have reviewed the account and seen it is little used then it is not unusual for them to recall the overdraft.

You will need a card which would allow Super Balance Transfer where you can transfer funds directly into your current account. Only a very few providers offer that option like MBNA/Virgin/Post Office....some other providers offer that option like Halifax but they will want to see your credit card account conduct before offering that option.
