Getting a credit card

in Credit cards
Hi all,
I was hoping to buy a new computer soon, but somebody told me that I should do so with a credit card because it offers more security. I'm all for this, but have never had a credit card before and have no idea what it entails. Will the computer end up costing me more if I use a credit card? How long does it take to get a credit card?
Thanks in advance for replies!
Chris

It won't cost any more if you pay it off in full by the due date.
It''ll take around 2 weeks to get the card once you have been accepted. But you need to make sure you apply for an appropriate card, if this is your first.0
