What I should have said then is they have zero chance of receiving a refund *by asking for one*. Should they take it down official routes then thats different.
Even after they have left a neg if you get a dispute ruled against you that will also count for your seller compliance. SO waiting for a dispute is a risky and rather pathetic action IMO

No - you have nothing much to lose - but you have everything to gain as issues, once sorted out, can lead to feedback revision. It is far, far easier to get negatives removed nowadays than it used to be when I got them for a few mistakes I made when learning the ropes. If those situations had happened today I would always contact them and try and sort the problem out, and then ask them to revise. This is extra important nowadays because revising also allows them to revise any low DSRs they may have left you.

I'd always hold off a neg until the problem is sorted, and most of the time it's been OK, but the only time I've ever left one I did it to get the seller's attention as they weren't responding even to a Paypal dispute being escalated to a claim.

To their credit they sorted out the problem - they had gone away on holiday (allegedly - I didn't believe them because they responded immediately after I left the neg - suggesting either coincidence or it was that that focused their mind) leaving listings running. But if you had done that to me, and had then ignored me because I'd negged you, I'd have got my money back anyway. All you accomplish is leaving a bad taste in the buyer's mouth and probably making that person, unless they are a complete diehard, give up on eBay entirely.

Seriously - make sure you are doing all you can to encourage buyers to tell you about any problems they have with your items, then sit back and complain about unfairness and how eBay are screwing you over. I think you might have a better experience all round.

Generally your posts are quite pathetic too, I've noticed.
