Evening,
Can anyone recommend a good laptop or places to look for a good laptop with a budget of approx 300-400 please? Would be used for surfing, paying bills, email, bit of excel for matched betting etc.
Any advice greatly received, have had a look myself but not 100% what kind of spec we would be ok for the above with.

I bought a Tosh sat. a few years ago for DD. Toshiba were very good at repairing 3 times in 18 months - the mouse button kept going!
Aside from that it was great until it died forever a few months ago. I had the recovery disks and it was revived by a family member who works in IT but died again hours later. Tried another IT expert who says it's time to let it go!
I bought a HP very cheap from Tesco for £260 almost 18 months ago and it's been fab.
More recently bought a Packard Bell from Tesco. Again sub £300 and I used my clubcard vouchers. I think I prefer the HP though DD quickly nabbed the PB as she thinks it's better.
We only use laptops for web browsing , social networking and I have MS office word and excel on them.~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

I've recently bought this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007XERAJ0/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00 . Can't fault it, good build quality and more than enough for your requirements. Ignore the plantpot on Amazon who's left the poor review!
I tried a "factory refurb."before the Tosh., it lasted about two hours before it went belly up. Refund received for that.0 -

The reviews are based on it having 1GB RAM. It will be a slow as running treacle until you add the extra 4GB module.
That's why the Outlet will get so many of them back. Novices won't understand why they are so slow, so they will return them.
Note the difference between the reviews on the 4GB RAM model and the 1GB RAM module.0 -
