P.S for those who have been following I have now got my 140 points, passed all my exams! :j

That would be funny. There have been calls for it to be cancelled but I cant see it at this late stage. the FSA may be stubborn, but perhaps the FCA will replace RDR with something very similar with a slightly different acronym.0

I'm with the growing percentage of advisers who believe that the RDR will be implemented as intended but that a second wave will be needed very shortly after, perhaps setting up the basis of RDR2 as early as 2013.
There are just too many loose ends for next year not to turn into an abysmal nightmare for both financial planners and their clients.
OP: congratulations on passing the Diploma, but don't stop there. Sooner or later the bar will rise again, might as well get to level 6 sooner rather than later!I am a Chartered Financial Planner

There are some new J0x units out as well. The platform paper would be a good one to look at. Hopefully, there will be some expansion on the AF papers soon. I would like to see some more focused areas.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Absolutely. I think the AF exams are actually really useful due to their case study nature rather than being exercises in fact regurgitation. There are some new J0x units out as well. That said, the platform paper could be useful, though I suspect not useful enough for me to splash out however much more I'd need for course materials and exam entry. I'm already capable of doing research on what platforms can offer, and suspect that passing an exam in that area would be overkill.
I think I might decide to find at least 30 more points for Fellowship after my next exam, so maybe at that point I can see what the consensus on those papers is.I am a Chartered Financial Planner

I'm going to do the platform paper. Mainly as I could probably do it with little revision and training having looked at the sample questions and subject material. From a business point of view I dont think it will do much as most consumers dont know what a platform is so wont go picking platform specialist on unbiased! It will probably end up with the same value as my chartered institute of banking exams.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
