The Obel project was originally backed by a consortium of developers, but in 2008 the Blackbourne family took full control, buying out their partners with the backing of BoS.0 -

Sorry confusion here, Karl properties bought out their partners in 2008, Karl properties ltd, a subsidiary of the Karl group I believe. But yeah you're right, the Blackbourne family, who are directors of KARL holdings "bought out" their Obel partners in the joint venture, Donegal Quays limited.
