Freezer burn

How do I stop freezer burn on fresh meat that I am freezing? No end of times I'll put chicken portions/breasts,mince ect in the freezer and when I come to take them out and defrost them they don't look very appetizing at all and often end up throwing them out and taking a trip to the shop to buy new. Obviously this is defeating the object so any tips?

Thanks,

Pete.
I'll get me coat!

Remove as much air as you can from the freezer bag before you seal it.

Do you have a fast-freeze option? If so, I find this helps.

If you get some freezer burn, you can simply cut the affected parts out when it's defrosted. Or there was a post recently suggesting that the "burned" part is simply dehydrated and if you soak the chicken in water it will rehydrate. Either way, there's nothing "wrong" with the meat and it's safe to eat - although it may look a little unappetising.

I put meat in a freezer bag and then suck the air out. I then fast freeze it.

    I never get freezer burn.
