AOE - Council Tax

the council and the payrol department have told me that the two orders are treated seperately, so out of my wages, the first order is taken at 17% of my wages, they then calculate what banding the remainder of my wages fall into and deduct the second at this %
if your saying this is incorrect then please can you provide a source of the information so I can go back to my payrol department
on my wage spip it shows
"Court Orders - 537.48"
"TOTAL DED Sandwell - 292.61"
"TOTAL DED Sandwell - 242.87"0 -

What your payroll department have told you is correct for multiple debts,

Haven't worked out if their calculations are correct though!0 -
I also asked the council if they would consolidate it into one to which they told me it was not possible for either them or my employer ???
I have seen lots of stuff on the net about "consolidated attachment of earnings"0 -
They are right neither the council or employer can consolidate them. You have to apply to court for a consolidated attachment of earnings order.
To do it you have to write to the court with details of all the aoe's and you also need to include an income & expenditure statement. And the court would review this to consider if its 'reasonable' and whether you can afford the current AOEs and if not how much you can afford towards these debts.
If you are considering this I would get your income & expenditure checked over by someone (maybe one of the debt charities or post on here) as if you include what are considerd to be excessive amounts or if you include excessive luxuries its not likely to be accepted.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I appreciate my OH taking a job to help but in the current economic climate with limited or no experience the likelyhood of him gaining employment anytime soon is unrealistic.
Cant agree with this to be honest, do you have any idea how many thousands upon thousands of people who have limited or no experience some of whom are actually even illiterate go out to work in Britain today.
Is he actually applying for any Jobs. Does he get JSA or any kind of benefit.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
