Halifax - watch out for euro transfers

Not true. MasterCard imposes no time limit on when a refund can be made via your card. If the holiday company said this, then it's a rule they have made up with little regard for the charges that UK customers will incur as a result.3. The holiday company tell me they can only refund to CC for a month hence the reason they sent it straight to my current account as I had paid up before that.
No, you're confusing MasterCard's transaction system with the SWIFT/SEPA system. The Clarity card uses MasterCard, whereas your refund came via SEPA. The two systems incur very different charges. It's clearly possible to do euro payments/refunds a lot cheaper since Halifax do that with their Clarity card and even bad cards only charge half what this cost me. Paypal would have been cheaper too.0
