Routing calls through different companies

If you enter the following prefixs regardless of who your calls are routed through the companies who prefix you use will bill you.

BT's prefix is 1280

Tiscali 1615 or 1656

Does anybody know any others???

Its useful to know some companies rates vary at different times and rout calls through them accordingly.

A top tip is with Tiscali Broadband you can also get a Free weekend call package free of charge, however this means that all of your calls are routed through Tiscali. Simply set this up then contact your current call provider and ask them to take your calls back. The actual call package stays live with Tiscali, to take advantage of their free calls at the weekend simply enter their 1615 prefix between Friday midnight and Sunday midnight.

Anybody any views or opinions.

Likewise if a calls company has suspended your account with them you can use the above prefixs to be charged through another company thus being able to make outgoing calls. Of course i dont endorse this but it is possible

There are various comments about Tiscali (etc.) on these forums.

If you have a BT residential landline, the MSE Callcheckers are an invaluable resource.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
