Glad you managed to sort it, we had a similar thing with Avis, paperwork signed as tank full but a couple of weeks later a charge for £9.17 was taken from my CC. A quick phone call and they have promised to refund.
I think it is a standard money making ploy, they hope you won't notice the additional charge!

The BIG scam to watch is "We've supplied a full tank, at £Exorbitant, return it empty". Very rarely does anyone get the vehicle empty (unless they siphon off ;)) so you get stung twice ... once for the rip-off price per litre, and again for the fuel you've paid for but not used.

We've always hired the car from them with the extra £8 per day insurance. This time we had the car for longer, so went with a seperate excess insurance policy.

Once again, its time to hire a car again. Looks like its going to be 18-20 days, and Europcar are not in the frame this time.

Lesson learnt, be sure to take a picture of the mileage/fuel guage upon vacating the car, and always keep the receipt.!

We hire from Enterprise occasionally, and it's cheaper to send the car back with no fuel that to refill it, because they only charge something like £1.10 a litre.
