Hire Car Fuel Dispute

Glad you managed to sort it, we had a similar thing with Avis, paperwork signed as tank full but a couple of weeks later a charge for £9.17 was taken from my CC. A quick phone call and they have promised to refund.
I think it is a standard money making ploy, they hope you won't notice the additional charge!0 -
The BIG scam to watch is "We've supplied a full tank, at £Exorbitant, return it empty". Very rarely does anyone get the vehicle empty (unless they siphon off
) so you get stung twice ... once for the rip-off price per litre, and again for the fuel you've paid for but not used. 0 -
We've always hired the car from them with the extra £8 per day insurance. This time we had the car for longer, so went with a seperate excess insurance policy.
Once again, its time to hire a car again. Looks like its going to be 18-20 days, and Europcar are not in the frame this time.
Lesson learnt, be sure to take a picture of the mileage/fuel guage upon vacating the car, and always keep the receipt.!0 -
We hire from Enterprise occasionally, and it's cheaper to send the car back with no fuel that to refill it, because they only charge something like £1.10 a litre.0
