Oh dear, this is just not great news for anyone.

It appears the William Hague is tipped as potential Chancellor following a reshuffle. Has Cameron learned nothing? Someone with real world finance experience is needed, not a career politician.

However, Labour's pole position in the three crucial rankings is not the result of a surge in support for Ed Miliband's party – whose ratings remain virtually unchanged since March – but a double-digit drop in confidence in David Cameron's team, including Chancellor George Osborne.

Remind me how 'spending money we dont have' is more competent?
Maybe they are more competent in their incompetence?0 -
Government are expected to appear at least a little competent and even in control a little
this curent one is failing that test
constant changess of mind plus the normal amount of 'events' is indeed making them look every much out of control
there is however time for things to change.0 -

Labour are largely to blame for the pickle our economy is currently in! At least this government is taking relatively swift and decisive (albeit unpopular and meandering) action about it.
I am sure most of those people saying Labour are more "competent" are the ones having their benefits (and lifestyles) rightly stripped to the bone.
It shows what a woefully short memory the populus has. Votes are wasted on the voters the same as youth on the young (sounding like a young Anakin Skywalker).Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
Welcome to the lunacy of the current political system.
Ruin the economy, other party then wins.
That party then have to do all the unpopular crap due to the ruined state of the finances and all the "jam tomorrow" promises.
Everyone hates the people that try clean up the mess and "ta-da" the twits that made the original mess are back in power.

if you are running away from a hungry lion you don't have to outrun the lion; you only have to run faster than your companion.
Interestingly, some of the MPs in the Alliance were openly arguing this sort of attitude recently on the radio.
The difference was the lion was the competition for new markets, and the companions were UK and Europe. Simply put, if we appeared a more stable place to do business than mainland Europe then overseas investors would flock to us. Very dog eat dog.
However, the recent IMF figures suggest Germany and France are still outperforming us in the growth stakes. I'd be looking over my shoulder for a lion if I were us!
This is it with politicians. They can talk the talk. Rarely can they put any of this into practise. That goes for any party.0
