help - Double deduction mistakes on credit card

in Credit cards
Hi. I loaded dollars onto a pre pay card (that was recommended on this site) and headed for New York of a fixed budget. On the pen ultimate day of my holiday the card company (Fairfx) had a glitch and deducted twice the amount for every dollar I spent. My card was declined several times and I couldn't afford breakfast on the last day of my holiday. I also, had to return clothes that I had bought in order to get cash back to afford the cab fare from the hotel to the airport. The balance for this was all in my budget.
The card company said it happened to loads of people and, sorry, bad luck but they will return the money.
I am not satisfied with this. They ruined my holiday, caused me stress and embarrassment and now I have a card with dollars on that I won't ever need that I have to convert to pounds as a premium rate.
Any advice? Can I sue them?

Sue them? Lol. :rotfl:
You can request they compensate you how any financial loss you suffered and possibly to do a good deal on the conversion. But chances are they have a clause in their terms saying that technical glitches can happen.
And embarrased? You should only be embarrased that you did't have a back up card. Other than that, the store people the card declined in front of - you're never going to to see them again. Why be embarrased.0
