BT cancellation advice

I'll try and keep this really short.
Since moving home and opting for BT phone & broadband (12mnth & 18mnth contract), I had six months of continuous (EVERY day, 2 hours on average), broadband dropout.
Throughout my MANY calls to their call centre (1 engineer visit and loads of over the phone advice telling me they would try different things), I was assured I would be compensated fully for the disruption - compensated over an extended period of time as the various call centre people all said they couldn't expect me to call on every single occasion and would take the entire duration of the fault as one problem. Fault finally got fixed after six months, when I call asking about compensation the operator starts adding up individual days I called to complain!!!
Because I do uploading and downloading everyday for work, it was a HUGE disruption and I tried to cancel on many occasions, receiving resistance at every request.
My internet has now been fairly stable for several weeks but I am extremely unhappy about BT's customer service towards me and I would like to leave - I am hoping my circumstances allow it or give me some leeway.

Any advice on the nest ways to proceed would be appreciated as EVERYTIME I ring them, I get put through to their International call centre and it is driving me mad.

Thanks in advance.

    Call faults?
The fact you are using a residential connection for business purposes is your own fault - business user get compensation and faster repairs in the event of 'issues'. As long as they note your issues, and provide a rebate for services not delivered, that is your entitlement - make sure you get it!
  • I took the contract before my company started asking us to do theses u/l's d/l's.
My company has offered to pay for a business line but I am already signed up to BT.

If you change to BT Business broadband then your residential broadband contract will be terminated without charge as BT class this an upgrade.

Agreed, as things is an upgrade, the process will be immediate and without restriction, however - when your firm agrees to 'pay' for it ensure it is their name on the bill as should anything untoward happen, you might be left with a big bill.
  • Thanks for the replies, couple of things:

I have already paid up front for 12 months line rental, is this compensated back?
My company will want to completely take over the account, can I change the name/address of the bill payer?

    Thanks again.
