- its in their DNA, I saw precisely the same style of operation but under a different banner with Maggie & Tebbit
- they would have continued, and will continue after loosing next election
- like Arnie they'll be back with the same old policies time and time again, they will never ever stop
- if you are not productive to the state as in ‘deadwood’, lazy, inferior or undeserving slackers then you are a waste of benefits
- there are two kinds of humanity in this country productive ones who contribute to the state, and unproductive ones who bleed the state dry
Or at least that seems to be their perception, and certainly it is evidenced by those groups who are in line for the collective quick draw cattle prod they call benefit reduction for the poor, disabled, chronic sick, old and unemployed. Ask Lord Willoughby and Aidan Burley amongst others why 'work sets you free'
Forcing the chronically ill and disabled into work [or lose benefits] sounds like slave labour to me, heck even having a having a shedload of qualifications and experience is no guarantee of an employer getting back in contact with you to offer you an interview, let alone a job offer. That applies to shelf stacker's, shopfitters and graduate scientists. Eventually we will all end up on minimum wage like the 90% minimum slaves that did not turn up for work with G4S, ah well we'll all join Lizzie behind the counter.

The comment referred to isn't on MSE, but on the new statesman - "The problem is the unemployed and sick are becoming a scape goat to carry the blame for the country's recession .It is wrong to point the finger at a group of people and start a hate champaign towards them and also wrong to brainwash the rest of the workforce into even thinking it is the fault of the unemployed." to quote the first paragraph.0
