ESA appeals process - dont understand

Hi everyone
I appealled straight away once I received a letter to say Im not entitled to ESA. So I wrote an appeal letter and sent off with medical evidence.
I received a letter today saying I will be getting an appeal rate, until they are informed of a decision by the tribunal services.
Does this mean that DWP were not able to relook at their decision and it went straight to Tribunal? What happens now? It says I "may" need to provide sick notes....so do I? or not? will they let me know?
They make it very confusing to understand, maybe someone can help and clarify pls?
Thank you

first of all, the DWP never look at your decision, they just put your failed ATOS medicial away and leave it bit longer, when the 6 months come up and they will put u to the tribnal hearing. The DWP is very ticky and u will also have to sent in sick notes until after tribnal. We all know DWP will never look at your appeal decision, they don't care and put it away.0

the decision will have already been reconsidered, and the original decision was upheld and so now it will go to tribunal. id be sage and provide sick notes until the appeal.0

flight ... i was told that they will look at it again before it goes to appeal .... im not disagreeing with you, just thought differently0

Yes thats what I thought. That when you first appeal, they firstly look at it, and if they cannot change their decision they will send to tribunal?flight ... i was told that they will look at it again before it goes to appeal .... im not disagreeing with you, just thought differently0 -

Do u actually believe DWP will look into this? No, I don't believe them, they are bunch of liars and doesn't like any of us who are ESA on higher pay. They want us all to stay on the assessment rate for as long it take and if won, re-aassessment, won, re-assessment again. This government is simple don't care!!!0 -

This is the first time I have received benefits and uptil now thought ESA was an easy option, I now see it is anything but, I agree the government simply don't care. They are coming down way too tough on soft targets while they waste money in other places.
They soon changed their minds on family allowance when the middle classes said they needed the extra £12 a week even when earning up to £60k.0 -
I went to CAB last week with my friend and was shocked that the government haven't finish it yet and the next process is to stop benefits on either JSA or ESA while on holiday in abroad crackdown. The DWP will have the POWER to stop all the passenger out of UK with their passport checked at the airport while on JSA and ESA, Government say up to 27% of those on ESA went abroad average 2 or 3 times a year and 11% of those on JSA went abroad average 1 or twices a year. It will be introduce soon in October 2012 parliment reform.0

they already stop JSA if you go abroad on holiday, as you cant be actively seeking work.
i just had my ESA renewed without a medical... so the system workd for some at least!0 -

So that is why many people have reported having the decision reversed at reconsideration stage? You do talk some rubbish!0 -
