Oh, has it changed then? I had to stop it in Sept last year when I was made redundant and I got the 4 week run on for childcare - it was useful in covering the 4 week notice period for nursery. It also left me with a battle with HB as they wouldn't accept I had childcare expenses to pay as I wasn't employed any more, despite the fact I had to pay the 4 week notice period.
You get a run-on period if you finish working, or your childcare costs end, however if your childcare costs start to be funded elsewhere then Tax Credits stop the payments there and then.0 -
Gotcha! Thanks for the info. I've just rung the University and they're looking into options for me - here's hoping!0

There are likel to be two components
Grants which are harder to come back and for which you have to prove that you cannot survive without. These are no repaid
Loans which are intended to tide you over until your bursary/grant arrives. These are repaid. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Fab. A loan would suit me fine - I don't wish to double claim and benefit financially at all from it, I just want to be able to pay her fees and be able to feed us.
They seem to think the 6-8 weeks thing is an exaggeration anyway, apparently they've never had a query like this before, therefore begs the question, is it true? Will need a back up plan just in case, but she's doing some research and getting back to me. Big thanks for all the info everyone x0
