Most blatant fee avoidance ever?

Selling a parking space for a few hours for 1p seems really philanthropic. Until you get to the £14.99 postage charge :rotfl:
Auction is here.

Suggestions for the best way of mailing a parking space are welcome. I'm going to ask if I can collect in person to avoid the charge.

AND (while I'm at it) what's the point of having a "Best Offer" if the BIN price is 1p????

EDIT: In fact I asked him if he could post me the space as I could use it here.
Can I help?

Just looked at his history of sales, I think he may have sold everything already and has moved onto space and air. Perhaps a failed quantum psychicist? I have some dead flowers and a cobweb top left of the room. Go on, £30 for cash sent unrecorded. Free postage but compulsory insurance of £50.

Not the most blatant fee avoidance, seen worse, charging £25 for Collection in Person

I cant see why you have a problem,
I would happily pay £15 for a days parking in central London

Given the cost of P+P is stated in the auction and the winner knows how much they are going to have to pay, I don't really mind fee avoidance. Given how Ebay screw people through their extortionate fees (this is particularly true of PayPal) as they know they are market leaders, I'm not surprised people resort to this.

That's just like saying because Tesco make a profit it's OK to shoplift from them.

How can people trust sellers who rip off Ebay at the drop of a hat? What chance do you think the buyer has of getting a fair deal?

But by avoiding fees, I don't think that's the equivalent of stealing which is completely wrong in my opinion. Ebay capitalise on their dominance by charging extortionate fees. i.e if you sell an item on Ebay for £1 and the person pays via PayPal over half of that £1 goes into Ebay's pocket. So I don't blame anyone trying to avoid their fees. And if you don't like it, there's hardly much choice out there is there?

If you feel eBay's fees are too expensive then quite simply don't list items on there. There are alternative auction sites that you can use that are cheaper than eBay. You probably won't get as many views/sales as you would do if your item was listed on eBay, but if you don't want to pay the fees then what do you expect.
