So my mom wants to take a trip with me.. .it's been absolutely years!
She's currently fixated on going to St Pete's/Clearwater area of Florida as I mentioned it earlier.
Problem is it seems super expensive so I thought I'd see what forum knowledge brings up:
2 people, 2 rooms
Aug 20-30 2012 (10nts, flexible!)
Ideally BHX, if not MAN/LHR etc
Don't mind car hire, love near the beach! Seems to be over a grand each so far. Maybe that's what we are dealing with :S
Thanks!

We stayed in St Pete's a couple of years ago, only for about 3 nights though. We stayed at the Tradewinds Island Grand - got it on Priceline or Hotwire, although they also charge a resort fee.
I'm not surprised the prices are high though, flights are expensive this year.0 -
£1000 to book now is very good, fares to Florida are very high, don't limit yourself to local departures because there is no real competition for United Airlines on those routes, which all involve changing plans in New York anyway. The nearest airport would be Tampa, only BA fly directly there from the UK, otherwise you either drive from Orlando or change planes along the way. BA direct to Tampa is just under £1000 each, United have flights via Washington from London for under £600 but the journey is much longer0
