but is it really the case? Would you also have ignored a letter that stated that you'd won a million and all you needed to do was attended an appointment to claim it? I think anyone would have to be extremely poorly to be in this position.

If the house was on fire would I want to then leave the house! there's another daft point you could have made, fact is I was unaware I had an appointment, lets keep this in perspective, from what I have since learnt it wouldn't have even been to see a doctor but someone who is paid to fill in a form, yes I should have either received the letter or been aware of it but to stop all benefits for one missed appointment is too harsh.

I even returned the form giving my reasons why I missed the appointment but even that wasn't enough, clearly the Government is out to punish people and get the numbers down anyway they can.

To stop someone's benefits on one mistake you would think they had to at least send such a letter recorded delivery, to be able o say the letter was sent, so therefor it was delivered is just a daft thing to say, when Royal mail themselves admit million of post is lost or miss-delivered every year.

Anyway thanks all who have tried to help, those that have been pleased that another piece of scum has had their benefits stopped, bad news for you I have just started a new claim back dated to the last day of my previous claim, so more work for them and cost when it would have been a cheaper option to have gave me a new appointment and maybe a weeks benefits stopped.

Can you look through your post to see if the letter and the ESA50 is there? At least you would know on what basis you are appealing, non receipt or that you ignored the letter due to your depression.

For future is there someone that can monitor your post for you, its really important whilst you are receiving benefits to read your post carefully, you could end up with overpayments and all sorts.

they have only ready said it doesn't matter if I got the letter or not, the rule is once it was sent it must have been delivered!

The decision maker was trying his hardest to tick the "customer didn't get the letter" box as that is a clear reason to stop benefits, as he keep saying the letter was sent, even those I said he or I could not say for a fact it was received so stopping all benefits was unfair.
