oil fired system????? how much to convert??

Looking at buying a house that still has oil fired heating/hot water and was wondering if anyone new the cost of arranging gas to be supplyed?? It has mains gas in the road so would be the cost of taking a supply to the house??

i looked in to this. dont ring british gas, its transco, or was at the time i rang. i had quotes for £6000!0

if you could arrange to dig for the pipework in your garden that could reduce the quote
(let them expose gas main in pavement / service strip)0
