Misleading info on neighbours property which is for sale

We have recently moved, into a house situated on a cul de sac. Last week one of our neighbours put his house up for sale with the same EA that we bought through. The EA has made a mistake and copied the directions of our private driveway onto our neighbours details. I found this out today when I found my car blocked in on our driveway by a mystery car whose owners I could not locate. It turned out that they had parked on my drive to view our neighbours house and then had decided to have a walk around the area. All this meant that I could not go down to the school to pick my little one up, so I ended up having to call a taxi. When I found out what had happened I hot footed it down to the EA who are denying responsibility. They are saying that my neighbours have signed to say that the property details are correct, and will not remove the directions to my drive until they receive a written request from their customers to do so. My neighbours have obviously agreed to do this and have apologised profusely saying they only scanned the details and did not read them word for word. I asked the EA for my taxi fare and she as good as laughed in my face. I'm now worried that other people may also have got the incorrect details and may also block on my drive causing further hassle. has anyone else experienced anything like this?

find out where they live and park out side their house blocking them in, you may not get any money but its always nice to pay some hassle forward.0

Now your neighbour is aware, I would expect them to tell viewers that they are parking on your drive. Problem solved.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0

The viewers got the details from the EA so the EA is responsible. They in turn can act against your neighbour.
You could ask the EA for the details of the viewers as they have trespassed on your property which has caused you a financial loss as they blocked you in. I think you need to re-approach the EA and ask to speak to someone with some authority. And then speak to your local newspaper?0 -
We live opposite a working club which only has car parking for about 12 cars, thankfully we are in a reasonably nice area but at least 10 times a year we get our driveway blocked. Initially I was quite cross but now I am far more relaxed about it. I just go over and tell the club and they shame the driver by announcing their registration over the loud speaker....... this usually does the trick.
I was once in a position where I needed to get the car out for an emergency, however grandad came to the rescue so culprit was forgiven..... minus his wing mirror .... joke!
I understand how annoying it is, but honestly ..., don't make too much of an issue or else you will get yourself really wound up...thats how I used to be.
Your neighbours will resolve it, they seem like they want to sell so they will do the right thing.
Hope this helpsOh how I dream............0 -
have you asked your neighbours for the refund? they sound reasonable, agents send a copy of the details to the owner to check to make sure they are correct. seems as though best thing is for the neighbour to pay and then reduce thier commission by that amount to the agent for making a mess of the details.

If it continues - call out a clamping company0

Couldn't you just park across your drive yourself for a couple of weeks, just in case?0

Personally I believe its nothing to do with the agents now. When you sell your house you are sent the details of the property that you, the vendor have to check and sign to say they are correct and accurate. Obviously the neighbour didn't do this very thoroughly (they said themselves they only scanned over the details) so why should the agent lose out?:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
The OP should just talk to their neighbours and ask them to write the letter to the EA. Ask them to copy you into the letter i.e. put c.c. your name at the end of it and give you a copy. That way the EA knows you have a copy and it's now the EA responsibility to do something about it.
Then if you are blocked in again say within 7 days of you knowing the EA has received the letter write a firm letter to the EA threatening them with court action the next time this occurs for injury to feelings and the taxi fares. (Make sure you get receipts for all the fares.) Don't bother going in and talking to the EA. Lots of employees laugh in people's faces but when they are threaten with regulators in writing and court action they normally pay attention.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Is there any way you could put up a temporary sign at the end of your drive to warn viewers not to park there?0
