i had Mortgage payment protectin several years ago on a mortgage. Not something that we wanted but were told at the time that best chance of getting the remortgage was to take this out.
well during the 3 years of that mortgage I was off sick for nearly a year. I filled in all the relevant paperwork to make a claim and they continusoulsy fobbed me off even though the doctor had filled in teh paperwork stating that not a pre exisiting condition.
To cut a long story short I was too sick to battle things out so luckily had some shares at work which i sold to pay off the mortgage payments until i returned to work.
where do i stand now?
friend said i could claim back the mppi premiums plus interest plus also for all the payments that they should have made as it was a valid claim .... ?
i can't see anything like that anywhere on the internet....
Please can someone advise me as to what to do moving forward..
The way I see it is that we paid for something that wasn't worth the paper it was written on ....

The claim is not necessarily related to the sale of the product. If you have a complaint about how they handled the claim then you should complain about that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
i'm unhappy that i was sold insurance that i didnt want and that when i did try to claim on it that they constantly fobbed me off even though they had all of the relevant info ..0

The missale of the policy is difficult to prove. The failure to meet the claim MIGHT mean it was missold but equally the complaint might have been unfairly rejected.
I would go down the complaint about the rejected claim route first.0 -
I agree, this is a claims complaint not mis-sale.0

i would imagine they would time barr a complaint about a claim, as you knew of a reason to complain about it over 3 years ago (i assume it was over 3 years ago).0
