Hi folks,
Since introducing the Thanks button several years ago, we’ve had almost 130 million thanks given to our posters by other users. While it’s great to see so much positive feedback, the sheer size of the Thanks record is putting an unnecessary strain on our servers and we need clean out the underlying record to free up space. Don’t worry, this won’t change anyone’s Thanks numbers but any post more than a year old will have the “who thanked this” record deleted.
To summarise, we are making the following change to the thanks system:
• We are removing the record of which users thanked a particular post after a year.
• As a result, posts more than a year old will not show up when you perform searches for posts thanked by a particular user.
• Totals (the number of posts you have thanked, the number of posts you have made which have been thanked, the number of times you have been thanked) will not be affected.
• This will be undertaken from midnight on Monday 16th July 2012 and is likely to complete in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday 17th July.
This change is necessary to help with the future smooth running of the forums. Thank you for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.

I don't understand what has bit means ? is this a search we are likely to use with we are trying to find information on a subject for example ' how to get cheap flights ' or is it one of them searches that's available but people don't really use much because it not really useful for finding information ?0 -

What happens when you try to thank a post that is more than a year old now? Is it not possible, or is a new record created?0
