BACS payments into personal account

Hi
I am self employed but approaching semi retirement and planning to cease my business trading name and close the business bank acccount ...to stop the increasingly high fees they are imposing.
But I intend to carry on doing the odd job or two for selected customers over the next couple of years.... not using my business name, just my own.
Does anyone know (before I start asking banks) if I can register a seperate account in my own name and receive bacs payments? It might only be 2 or 3 per month...maybe less!
I wont be signing cheques. Maybe there would be one or two DD/SOs going out.
The alternative would be to tell these companies to pay me by cheque in my name...but that may cause them logistical problems resulting in them 'going elsewhere'.
Thoughts?

Of cause you can have a current account, if you are a sole trader then it has to be in your name and you can chose to optionally had a trading name to it so you can cash any cheques payable to the company.
As you are looking to do everything electronically the best is to look at the HSBC Direct business account which is free as long as your counter service use is very light.0 -
Many thanks for that lead. It sounds like its just what I need.0
