Booking Holiday Advice

Hi
I wonder some readers of this forum might assist, I have a budget of £1600 and would like to have 7 days in the Sun for 2 Adults and 2 children (16 & 14), leaving from Stanstead on the 15th or 16th August.
Would like hotel to be All Inclusive, have a Pool and be within walking distance of a beach.
a) What are the best websites to look at, either for package deals or DIY ?
b) Should I book something now or wait for a last minute deal hoping that the price will drop ?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kev

Have a quick look on icelolly.comRubbish at the grocery challenge!0

https://www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk is a god place to start
However, having been looking for my brother in law recently, I reckon you're going to need £600/pp minimum0 -
I agree with the above holidayhypermarket is brilliant, also they have a sister site called latedeals they are on facebook and twitter, if you like the page and follow them on twitter, they will keep you up dated with all the latest deals. On Twitter they are @latedeals1 and on facebook Latedeals they get the best deals I know going in the next 8 weeks.0

Hi
Thank you for your replies, I had a quick look at holidayhypermarket and they looked a bit pricey compared to icelolly.
I have been looking at teletextholidays as well, just trying to find the cheapest possible.
Will have a look at latedeals and report back

IME Icelolly headline prices aren't anywhere near what you end up paying
be careful you read everything before committing0 -
If you see something in your price range book it, this poor weather is keeping prices high and more people are considering going abroad cause they're so fed up.0

Hi
I have checked the below websites and I agree with mcfisco only having £1600 to spend is going to make life difficult, especially when you factor in all the extra's like tax, paying to take a suitcase, airport transfers at the destination, travel to UK airport, airport parking etc, you can easily add another £300 on top of your holiday !
teletextholidays.com
holidayhypermarket.co.uk
icelolly.com
latedeals.co.uk
lowcostholidays.com
I am going to continue my search (have a feeling it's like searching for the Holy Grail !), can anyone else suggest any other websites or travel agents I could try ?
Thank you all for your help so far

You have chosen to travel immediately after the Olympics finish, rumours suggest this will be the busiest time rather than the last week in July as normal. Bookings are better in August than they have been up to now in July so if you must travel then, book as soon as you can. It may be better to look and see what seats Ryanair have left as they almost have a stranglehold on Stansted departures and then book accommodation separately0

Hi
Just an update for you, managed to find a deal on holidaydiscountcentre.co.uk and booked it through Imperial Travel for 4 Adults, 3* Sa Coma, AI, 2 Rooms, Flights, Suitcase and Transfer all in for £1850.
Spoke to Lee who was really helpful.
Thank you all for all your help and advice
