Over limit - will it affect credit rating?

Hi

I exceeded my credit limit this month on my Natwest Mastercard, does anyone know if this will affect my credit rating?

Thanks!

    Hi

It depends whether they report it to the credit agencies and I doubt they will. I would make sure you pay back the excess amount now and at least the minimum payment by the due date and I think you'll be fine.

Not good practice to let it happen too often though..

PS might be an idea to give them a call and explain what you are doing. Maybe they can raise your credit limit if it is likely to happen again.
