Broken Beko Washing Machine

I have a Beko WMA510 washing machine which has broken down. Had it 5 years and worked fine until it stopped half way through a wash program last week.
Now when I select a program, the light comes on and the door locks but nothing happens after that.
Anyone know what the likely problem could be and would it be a cheap fix for a repair man?
Washing machine was the cheapest when I first got it but money is tight and would rather just get it fixed if it works out cheaper than a cheap new one.

Could be a few things:
Pressure switch not operating the water heater. Cheap reapir.
Brushes on the motor. Cheap repair.
Motor faulty. Expensive repair.
Programmer fault. Expensive repair.
Loose / broken wire. Cheap repair.
Get a washer engineer in that has a good reputation, and get a quote as to how much repairs will cost. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
What muckybutt says.
If you can get a local independent repairer to give you an honest appraisal without a call out fee.
I know money is tight but you may find there is very little in it, similar new ones from £150."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Thanks all, I will see if I can get an long established repairer to come and give me a quote to fix. Not a fly-by-night meal ticket type person. If it is more than £100 I might just get a new washing machine.
Was looking at a couple in a second hand shop for £80-£90 but would be kicking myself if it broke down after 6 months.0 -
My father in law used to be an engineer for Servis, eventually went self employed. With todays throw away society and cheap white goods it put paid to a lovely repair buisnedd we had.
A rebrush on a motor inc call out would be £45 a motor for a Servis machine you were looking at £100 recon or £150 new, so with machines getting cheaper folks just werent getting the repairs done.
I personally wouldnt go with a second hand machine, could be a whole can of trouble just waiting for next week. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
