the cheek of some sellers

On the 13th I ordered an item of clothing from a business seller, nothing big or expensive.
Yesterday they message me telling me that the colour I want is out of stock and they want me to choose a different. Was a bit peeved as they hadnt even offered to refund and just expected me to chang the colour, as well as taking 2 days to inform me the item was out of stock.
I messaged them back politely say Id prefer a refund instead, another 24 hours later I got my refund, I was annoyed but just thought I wouldnt leave feedback.
That was until I got another message from them saying "we've issued your refund, please check this and leave us positive feedback with 5 stars"
I feel like negging just for the cheek of it, but I think Ill wait abit before I finally decide if Im going to leave any feedback or not.

The first part of your problem isn't a biggie - lots of buisnesses have the weekend off.
But the second one is pretty cheeky. If I hadn't recieved that message I probs would have left a positive saying something like problems resolved / refund issued etc.
But after a request like that, I might think about leaving a neutral (neg seem a bit too harsh).0 -
feedback left for others shows that they were active over the weekend.
Also a few other things have wound me up this weekend hence why im not leaving feedback just yet and will wait before making up my mind.
Knowing me I prob wont leave anything thing, 10 years on ebay and Ive only left 1 neg and 1 neutralS.P.C member 1662 - target £3000 -

Maybe they have automatic feedback set up?0 -
Re: automatic feedback - quite likely that they do.
Still, I agree with your policy as to not leaving feedback, and hate it when sellers do that.
I would just ignore them. If they pester you further then perhaps consider a neutral."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

You sound like me - i initially get wound up and then decide to wait and see how i feel later. Theres no rush - we have 2 months to leave feedback. I recently left a positive for someone i was adamant i was negging. Like you i only rarely leave a neg - but i do agree its best done after a bit of reflection.
I would be very tempted to leave neutral or neg if out of stock - but its never happened to me. If its on Ebay - the seller should have it. A number of times i have sold something i then couldnt find or was damaged - every time i have bought replacements at a loss to myself - and posted them on.0 -
I have never had to neg someone (touch wood!) but I think it's cheeky of them to ask you to give 5 stars. I think doing so would make a mockery of the whole feedback system. I think I'd just not leave feedback, or ask them to cancel the transaction.0

I agree with techspec - it shouldn't have been listed on ebay in the first place if they don't have it in stock. I think a neg would be too harsh but I don't think a neutral would be out of place.0
