WRAG is really very unfair say all GP's doctors. They say it a waste of time, waste of kept re-assessment all over again and again. as the government trying to make u give up and go back to JSA instead. As for support group the tribnal can award you but the government and DWP might reassessment your claim again with ATOS. It really nightmare, hassle and stressful. I would rather in a proper job to get away from crappy DWP and Jobcentre.
When dealing with the DWP, you first of all have to accept one thing - they don't want you to claim any benefits!
With that in mind, do what I do and treat the whole thing as a full time job. It's not personal to you that you don't manage to get them to do the right thing by you.
When I was rejected by the DWP for ESA, DLA (for me), AA (for my wife) & IIDB, I thought that it was personal.
However, I now treat each claim as a challenge, with one thought in mind - to win!
Some weeks I can spend upwards of 20 hours just working through the many pitfalls, telephoning the DWP, writing letters to the DWP, the Council & my MP.
Get help were you need it.
I plan exactly where I want to be, claiming what benefit I need. I use the same tactics as DWP do - never admit to knowing anything. Keep on top of your letters, send reminders every 4 weeks or so.
Only use the telephone if you have to, never enter into any discussion with the DWP - get it all in writing.
As for missing post, I realise that they hear that excuse day in day out, but that doesn't mean that there aren't genuine cases mixed up with those that 'play the system'.
Anything like that, I am straight onto my MP. Do not accept being called a liar by them.0 -
And your problem with that is????? :rotfl:
Quite simply that if you are accepted as being too sick to carry out the work based functions assessment that ATOS run, then why should people be 'instructed' to do voluntary work or enter into training?
That to me doesn't make any sense.
You are either sick or you aren't. There is no midway point - sick but not too sick to work/enter into training despite being told by the DWP that you are accepted as being sick having 'passed' the ATOS assessment.
To me it's like being told that I am not able to work by the DWP, yet well enough to do some vountary work!!
If I was told that I had to carry out voluntary work to ensure that I received money because I was too sick to work, I would go back to work in my own job.
You, me and 1,000's of others know that this has nothing to do with being sick, it is simply the stick (the carrot didn't work!) that the government are using to try and make it as difficult as possible to stay at home and receive benefits due to being unable to carry out work based functions.
For me, that produces a challenge. If the government in their wisdom confirm that I am too ill to work at the moment by virtue of a test that they devised, then I should not also have to carry out any form of working activity. I have no objection to looking at ways that I may be able to return to work in the future, but being made to train or do voluntary work in the meantime is one step too far!
The only thing that the DWP have over people is the fear that they can stop their benefit at a whim. Is that an acceptable way to treat people, making them feel anxious or worried?
The way I would do it is if I was placed in the Work Group, yes I would comply, but on my terms, not theirs!
Symptoms can vary for most conditions, and I would like to think that my symptoms seem to get worse when asked to do something by the DWP that I think is unfair. Compliance to a point!0
