Ecar Sent Notice Of Cancellation

I changed bank accounts from halifax to santander and they switched my direct debits but for some reason my insurance wasn't paid last month.
Had no notice from ecar and couldn't check my santander account because i still haven't received my online registration papers from them.
then yesterday received a letter telling me that they are cancelling my insurance and 7 days after the letter was printed my insurance will be cancelled. Been trying to ring them but they open monday morning. Can i make them not cancel it and pay them tomorow?

You cannot make them.

You can grovel and plead with them that it was a simple oversight on your part.

Maybe an offer to pay the balance will sweeten the deal? If you can.

Dont make offers you cannot follow up with though.

I would grovel and plead, otherwise you will have to always declare this cancellation.
I would expect cancellation as a result of non-payment to mean you cannot use a lot of on-line quote systems and possibly result in higher premiums or even declines.

I plead beg and pay any admin fees to get it re-instated as this will affect you in future unfortunately.

No but you can complain that cancelling without attempting to contact you first was unfair and unreasonable.

If that really happened, I would anticipate FOS taking a dim view of it.

Ecar's T&C's cover this - they advise that if any part payment is not made on the due date, the benefits of the policy are restricted, and the timeframe to pay before a full cancellation takes place. If you;ve not had the cancellation letter, you may well be able to get it reinstated - but also check with the ASKMID site to see what the current situation is. I'd also sent the money immediately if you can, via the website.

The company is also being restructured, and I'm leaving them shortly - so watch out for this possible added complication.
