Account hacked?

I received a notification on my phone earlier, it was from eBay saying I have won an auction for a girls bike.

I didn't bid or even view a girls bike on eBay, so I checked my account on my computer, and yes, that says I've won a bike too.

I have changed my password, and emailed the seller to inform them what has happened.

How do I contact eBay in the morning, as I don't want a non payer strike, and don't want any further issues.

    Click
Customer Support> Contact eBay tab> My Account - Someone has used my account> Call us.

It will give a code that is valid for 15 minutes.

Change your email and Paypal passwords as well.

Also do a thorough clean on your pC in case there is something nasty lurking- and as No Eye Dear says change your EMAIL and paypal passwords as well.

You didn't click on a link in the email to get to ebay did you?

There is a scam where you receive an email from "ebay" either informing you of a win or from an irate "buyer" demanding to know where their item is; the sole intention is to get you to click on the link in the mail (which is actually to the scammer's site and who will grab your password and then forward you on to ebay in the hope you don't realise something untoward has happened).

I suspect if they ''know who did it'' it means that they either allowed someone access to their accounts or gave the password away by some other means. In that case they might have a fight on their hands to sort this out as both ebay and paypal use IP logs and 'usual patterns' to help them spot hacked accounts.

Paypal are usually very helpful if you report a true hack to them, even when it is the users fault for falling for a phish or leaving themselves logged in on a PC in an office or something- they do tend to refuse help where the 'hacker' seems to have total access and could be a friend or someone known to the user.

It would be a great loophole (although one you occasionally see trying to be explored on the banking and card forums here on MSE) if you for instance allowed your friend to have access to buy something, but then overspent a bit- or maybe your friend spent too much. Just say 'it wasn't me that did it' and get the debts wiped off-

They already said that they logged on via computer after getting a phone notification
