as i have just said, the onus is on YOU to prove you were mis-sold. so your going to ring the bank and say i think i was mis-sold, they ask why - what are you going to say i can't remember?
thats evan before we get to the issue of not having paperwork that far back.....0 -
First snag... Standard Life are a life assurance company. So, it wont be MPPI. So a complaint about PPI when its not PPI isnt going to get far.Very good point....but i want to know if i have a legitimate claim...

They wont know if you have or not. You need to give them your reasons for complaint.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Absolutely - Standard Life never sold it.So a complaint about PPI when its not PPI isnt going to get far.
Whether the OP agreed to PPI or not, it seems he never had it.
An easy rejection.
Actually, my guess is that this is Mortgage Protection Assurance - a term assurance policy designed to pay off the balance of the mortgage if you die during the term (that is why it is called Term Assurance).0 -
dont think you're going to get a freebie here.
PPI is only refundable if mis-sold. You now think you may not have agreed to something 20 years ago, it doesnt stack up.
oh yeah, what you are on about isnt PPI.0 -

Good day to you all
So now we have got to the bottom of what it really is, my point is who is responsible for the broken promise to add terminal bonuses that do not even equal the preium paid each year. What on earth have SL being doing with the money (apart from paying it to shareholders)?
Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated

Bonuses are not added to term assurances or mortgage protection. The only mortgage related contract that got bonuses were endowments.
What promises are you referring to?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
