child tax credit: help with childcare?

Hi everyone,
If you are getting working tax credits(it's £0 at the moment), child tax credit plus disability element for the child, would you be entitled for the help with childcare costs(if it's an after-school club, £15 a week at the moment)? And what must the family income be for getting help with childcare?
Thanks

Not sure I can answer your question since the childcare costs are part of claiming working tax credits.

You say you have a nil award - do you mean you earn too much to be eligible?

Or do you mean you don't meet the working hours regulations?

Have a read of this and see if it answers your questions:

After school clubs are counted for the purposes of child care costs.

If you're a couple and both working 16 hours or a single parent working 16 hours.

There is no fixed income limit, it depends on exactly what elements you're entitled to, but if you get some CTC now then you will get extra for childcare if entitled as above.

Salary is around £23.000 a year for both (I guess it's nil for WTC because we are earning over £18.000). But we are getting child tax credit and disability element.

Yes you'll get extra for childcare - it'll show up as extra CTC due to the way the calculation is done.

When they say the childcare provider needs to be registered or approved and they ask for a registration number, is it the number provided by Ofsted-Unique Reference Number? If it's not URN given by Ofsted( I can google and find it), then how else can I find the registration number for the childcare provider?(the thing is that the child was going to after-school club before and I was told the help with the costs could be backdated 4 weeks- the place is now closed for summer- so there is no one to ask). thanks
