Please, do not use any PPI companies to assist you in reclaiming monies owed by Bank's, Credit Card Companies etc. it's so easy just to do it yourself and you get all of the money owed back your self.
I used the services of Consumer Finance Claims Limited (CFCL), and can advise that they fail to follow their own complaints procedures, i.e. they do not reply within the time scales required, that I had to make an official(and on-going) complaint to the Ministry of Justice to advise that the CFCLcomplaints procedure web site had an invalid postal and e-mail address for the Ministry of Justice, and the fact that CFCL had their own telephone number for that of the Ministry of Justice.
With regards to their complaints complaints procedure, they even attempted to respond within the final time scale by putting a letter dated with a date within the 8 week period, but forgot that their company Franking machine stamped the envelope with the date the letter was posted, which was 8 days after the date that I should have received their final response, how silly of them.
My dealings with with CFCL ended up in Court by them issuing me with a summons, then 4 weeks later they arranged a letter from Debt agency, naughty naughty, they should know that that cannot allow someone else to chase the same debt once when a summons has been issued.
The reason for the summons was that CFCL were attempting to get me to pay an invoice me for £900 for a cancellation invoice for a claim worth £1200, because they had failed to follow their own complaints procedure, but this matter went to Court and the Judge correctly informed Denis Shail that they cannot charge more than claim charges (20%) do this, and awarded them £230, nice one Judge, I'd written to CFCL many times before going to Court telling them this, but never received a response.
When signing an agreement with CFCL for say one credit card, loan etc. you are also giving them the right to make any claim for other credit card or loans with the same company....PLEASE CHECK AND READ ALL OF THE SMALL PRINT, BETTER STILL DO IT YOUR SELF.
I'll keep you informed of the outcome from the Minstry of Justice.0 -
Consumer Finance Claims have had a complaint about their advertising upheld by the Advertising Standards Agency - look here.
I have made a change to my template letter above to reflect this.
I looked this morning and found that Consumer Finance Claims' website still has the misleading statement.0
