Cheap temporary flooring

Good afternoon everyone,
I am moving into a flat next week. It is the ground floor of an Victorian type house. I am planning to get the front room, bedroom and hallway done in wood laminate, but need to save up for about 6 months to do so.
Therefore I am looking for something to put on my floors temporarily. The floors are basic wooden ones, in not too good condition, lots of spliters. I have looked on gumtree for remnants but they are still a little too expensive for my size rooms, and have no luck on Freecycle, but I am still hoping.
Can anyone suggest anything else?
Thank you
Susanna

Give them a quick sand and paint them. It's not worth putting any thing down for 6 months. That time will pass really quickly. A couple of cheap rugs over the top will add colour and Warmth.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Hi ya Phil, never thought of sanding them down as the have gaps in them. Also I dont drive, so the cost of hiring out a sander started getting expensive.
I am hoping to get some rugs of freecycle I think that is the way to go.
Thanks for the email
