  • Good luck in your job hunt. I would suggest, if possible, ask family or friend for a small a loan to tide you over.
The cost of a suit in the sales are very cheap these days, try Next, River Island or Burton.

In terms of rent, it would be best to commute at first until you can save up enough money for the rent/deposit etc. London rental prices are sky high.
Rail prices are disgustingly high as well, but if you buy a 1 month ticket this will reduce the cost, and cost less then the start up for rental in London.

    Hi again!

Just to clarify a few things looking at responses.

Although I did go to university I was lucky enough never to need an overdraft or credit card, so my current debts at the moment are only those cheeky student loans that I start paying back automatically when I am working full time.

The issue with the online application process is that it doesn't allow you to say that you are desperately seeking a job and have quite a few interviews lined up, and that the starting basic + commission for most of these jobs is enough that I will be able to start paying back in good chunks once I start getting pay cheques.

Hope this makes things a bit clearer for the lovely people giving advice!

    Thanks!

Credit card applications don't allow you to say you are looking for a job because unfortunately that's no guarantee of getting one immediately in this economy. You don't mention whether you are claiming Job Seekers Allowance while you are "desperately seeking a job"? That's what it's there for, to help with expenses like transport to interviews so you don't have to rely on credit when you as yet have no way of paying it back. You can check what benefits you are entitled to here. Good luck with your job search but don't make things more difficult with debt.
