Cash on Collection Ebay process

I have a very heavy item for sale on Ebay. I have it listed as an auction with a high starting price and cash on collection. It has 12 viewers and 2 have emailed me, 1 wants to view and another who asked if I would do a buy it now.

The first person to email is now planning to view the item. What do I do if he offers the starting price? Do I have to let the auction complete? I'm thinking he may not want to travel twice once to view and once to collect (if he wins the auction).

I am not looking to get out of paying Ebay fees and I would be happy to receive the starting price.

If they make you an offer there and then paying cash in hand at the time of viewing you can cancel the listing, you don't have to see it through to the end.

You don't pay FVF - only the listing fees. You also save on Paypal fees.

Thank you Mara69. I had to look up FVF lol. I knew I wouldn't have to pay PayPal but hadn't realised I didn't have to pay Ebay. :D

Anyway deal done and I've cancelled the sale. I used to sell through the local paper but nothing is moving atm so will use Ebay again.

Thank you again. I may be back with more questions.
