Hiya there
Why don't you try and have a look in the Poundland shop. They do some variety of toys and some cars that boys usually like. Hope this will help to get some stuff for your boy.
Happy birthday to him! :A :j :ABe nice, life is too short to be anything else.0 -

Have you looked on http://www.nurseryandtoys.com/. I haven't personally had any dealings with them (yet) but they have some really good bargains, and do deliver.

The child who is forever saying 'THAT's what I want for my b'day' is probably the best sort of child to buy for - pick one or two cheaper things you've seen advertised, and then buy things of your choice to 'up' the total to as much as you want to spend. Look on Ebay and in charity shops to see if anyone is chucking out little used stuff your DS won't know isn't new.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

I work with 4 and 5 year olds and I think games is a good idea. So many of our children don't play games anymore - so don't learn the social skills involved - lots find it very difficult to cope with losing. Plus it often helps with counting and number recognition. Check out Woolworths online their own Chad Valley games are good value - mine particularly loved build a beetle which is currently £5.99 - Woollies do good but cheaper versions of popular games.0

Tesco direct have a sale on some toys (plus triple points) as do boots - with codes from the vouchers board and quidco it should help to bring the price down plus look in your local paper - bargains to be had there
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

If you are looking for games, my son loves Chad Valley co!!!! crazy (version of Kerplunk) which is fun for all the family and quick to play. Personally I get a few extra toys and books from charity shops to stretch the budget.0

Dont feel pressured to buy stuff because other kids have got it or because he has seen it on TV, I was in the same position as you about 5 years ago. I used to go to boot sales weekly and buy stuff that looked new (or newish), and a couple of things from the shops. The kids didn't care.
Only you know what your little boy likes to play with, stick to that.
One suggestion: Wooden railway if he like them, can get big sets now quite cheaply and it can be added to each birthday and Christmas. Mine played with it until age about 7-8.0
