Home insurance and bankruptcy

I am searching for home insurance renewal quotes but I am getting no quotes as my partner was declared bankrupt 5 years ago.
I am the main policy holder and I will be paying for the insurance. Are there no insurance companies that will provide the cover simply because of a discharged bankrupt resident???

Have you tried phoning Direct Line ? I seem to remember that at one point, they were not interested in bankruptcy. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

Financial difficulties are both a fraud risk and a non-payment issue hence many insurers not wanting to insure people with bankruptcy on their history and why some are now credit checking as part of the quote process.
There are insurers that will insurer you, for an additional premium. If you contact a good local broker they should be able to help you0 -
The ones I have found are Direct Line (who don't ask at all), Swiftcover (who ask if br within the last 2 years) and Home Protect (but gawd they're expensive!!). Good luck!0

Anyone in the Direct Line Group should be ok with bankruptcy, namely, Churchill, Direct Line, NatWest & RBS. Plus I'd guess a few others that UKI Partnerships underwrites; Sainsbury's, Nationwide and Prudential.0
