Cheap and cheerful all inclusive?

Does anyone have any tips on where might be the best place for 2 couples to go at the end of September?
We're not overly picky, we just want some sun and a week's all inclusive... but as dirt cheap as possible (one couple saving for a wedding, the other couple students).
Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

Cheap AI could be false economy as the food is often poor and you could end up spending more to eat out.0

As I said, we're not picky. We had 2 weeks in the Dominican last year at a 4* hotel and it was horrendous. A 2* hotel in Benidorm that cost a fraction of the price had better food! :-)
Also, some of the sites we've seen so far have only had around a £60 difference between SC and AI so it doesn't really seem worth going SC - we'd probably spend more than £60 on booze over the course of a week!0 -
try Icelolly or Holiday Hypermarket just put in dates you want leave rest empty then do your research with what it throws up. I had Xmas in Gambia very cheap this way

It's not necessarily a case of not being picky.
Some people I know said the food at one AI hotel they went to was inedible.
Not repetative.
Not lukewarm.
Not limited choice.
Inedible.
To me, 'cheap and 'All inclusive' are 2 phrases that should never be in the same sentence.
Lots of AI hotels in Spain, Greece and Turkey.
I'd recommend you read the hotel reviews on Tripadvisor before you book.0 -
These two in Turkey......

If you are burgers and chips folks then these are a no, no but me and my family have stayed in both of these about six times and they really are fantastic with great food .....they are both next door to each other but Mares is classed as Marmaris and Palace is classed as Icemeler - i would go for Mares personally - we also got bargains each time we booked via Thomas Cook ( not my normal choice, but used them each time because the prices were excellent in April)0 -
I have always been lucky with all inclusive holidays and found the food ok especially at the San Miguel Hotel in Puerto San Miguel Ibiza (Thomsons). Hotel is quite cheap in September if booked with booking.com (hotel is called Club Hotel Cartago on this site). Three hotels in the complex so makes a change to visit the other restaurants including a Chinese in the main hotel and a poolside bar at the Galleon Hotel seving Mexican wraps. We take kids with us but hopefully less kids there in September. Good Irish bar not far from the hotel which is open late and good for a nightcap after all inclusive ends but drinks are expensive there.0

i have had some horrible all inc and some brill ones, read the reviews and do a lotof research, it is mostly the flights that bump up the price ..look for flights & hotel separate use flight scanner or martins own on here & try get somewhere near the airport so you can jump in a taxi when you do arrive. Check " on the beach " for easy looking for holidays but DO NOT!!! book with them, i have had no problems with ice lolly, travel zoo and travel republic but thomas cook otr thompson holidays can some times work out cheaper... good luckIT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!:j:money:0

Sort of agree with Carole.uk research is the key but 1 mans awful is another mans heaven. I went to Dominican Republic on a very last minute holiday(booked monday went tuesday £289) i had a brilliant time probably helped by the price, but lots of other people at the same place hated it.(I recommended it to a friend & he later got married there & loved it)I went to St Lucia had a horrible holiday but more people loved it than hated it. Obvously DR holiday didnt do research but all the research in the world is no substitute for finding out yourself sometimes a cheap surprise other times an expensive disappointment. Remember if there is something wrong with the holiday you have the same rights cheap & cheerful as expensive & luxuriant
