TAX Rebate received - should I contact them?

Hello All

I was delighted to receive a tax rebate for year 2004/2005 for incorrect tax codes relating to my company car.

My question is, will they automatically check every other year or should I call HMRC? Our PAYE lady at the company I worked for was a nightmare - I am just wondering if I am due anymore.

Very grateful

How did they find out you were entitled to a rebate in the first place. Was it the tax office,or did you contact them yourself.
I would give them a call and get them to check it out.

I wrote to them after I got mine with my calculations which they agreed with and boom got my refunds.

Possibly would have got them eventually who knows?

I got a letter out of the blue yesterday and then a cheque arrived this morning! I haven't had any contact with them for years so just wondering why now and if they will check every other year! Thanks for the advice x

Probably best to give them a call, unusual for a tax rebate going back 8 years, can only surmise it was an HMRC error.
Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.
