On DLA, approaching 65 yrs old????

Hi there, can anyone help me. My dad is on DLA (higher rate) at the moment and he is 65 next month. Does the DLA stop when he's 65?
Will he automatically be transferred on to Attendance Allowance? Or do we have to apply for AA?
Thanking you in advance:j

I am sure that he will just carry on with DLA as this was already claimed before his 65th birthday. If he had claimed after his 65th birthday then it would be for Attendance Allowance.

He will be able to remain on DLA. You receive Attendance Allowance if you are 65 or over when your first claim.
