If you are realistically paying all you can afford you need to write to them recorded delivery asking them NOT to telephone and to remove your phone number from their database.

Also check the National Debtline (web address at the top of this page) and get their income and expenditure form & send this along with the letter showing this is all you can afford. Do not include frivolous expenses such as lottery, only essentials.

All creditors will try and get as much money as they can. You just have to be firm and say this is all I can afford and prove this. If they do go down the CCJ route, it will only further trash your already shot credit rating and the judge will set a realistic repayment amount based on your income and expenditure.

  • thanks for advice but as far as i can see robinson way are just robbers...my bad credit ha since past and i can now get loans and credit cards again.i am thinking of asking for the proof of the original loan to see if they have any entitlement to the debt

Pressurising you unduly to increase payments when you cannot afford to do so is a breach of OFT guidelines.

    Give them a rise, 1p
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Very doubtful they will have anything at all, so write that letter and if they have nothing to prove you owe them anything, then the ball is firmly in your court.

    It's worth it.
